About Desk & Den & Contact

Desk & Den is a workshop, not a news desk: rooms, microphones and the habits around them, written from an audio hobbyist's bench where the question is always 'what does physics say?' before 'what does the store sell?'. The scope is deliberately app-agnostic — good acoustics outlive every software redesign — and the standing rule is physics first, purchases second, subscriptions last.

How advice is checked

Acoustic guidance follows established fundamentals you can verify with a voice memo in ten minutes — every guide includes its own test loop. Where software or vendor facts appear, they're verified against official sources and dated on the page. If a fix can't be confirmed by your own ears in a day, we don't publish it.
